I investigated the Calendar Function and set up the specification for it. Unfortunately, it cannot be presented as an extension of the blog sections, so I implemented the Paging Function instead. |
| I studied and tested various functions of the Calendar control to retrieve the blog messages by the dates displayed on the Calendar. After encountering a few Null Reference errors, the test was successfully carried out but revealed one serious problem. The Calendar function cannot be presented on the left side column below the navigation menu to be applied to all the sections, because the link addresses change as sections change. Therefore, I decided to implement the Paging function that can be applied to all the message related sections including the two blogs, TEO Administrator and Coty. This was quite simple, as all the codes related with the Paging function have been maintained in the base classes that are responsible for displaying the lists of messages for section home pages. I also decided to put the Calendar function on hold at this point. In order to implement it, the separate page has to be created, independent from the message pages and devoted to archiving the old messages. As all the messages on this community are rather recent, there is little need for creating the archiving page for now. |
