The pending RSS function was added. However, I encountered an unexpected snag.
I could not create the RSS document in Japanese! When Japanese characters are inserted into the defined format of RSS2, the browser does not display the RSS document with the warning that there are illegal characters included. Since blogging is very popular also in Japan now, I never thought that the RSS2 format would not accept Japanese characters, as this format is one of the big corner stones of the blogging technology. So, I was in complete dismay when confronted with this problem. As a makeshift, I hurriedly set up the link to my English RSS document on the Japanese Community to display my RSS at least in English. However, this proved to be a flop. When the Japanese user clicks on the links in the English RSS document, ASP.Net would display the error screens unintelligible to the user! This kind of errors occurs as the use is trying to access from the Japanese Community to the English Community directly, which does not exit from the ASP.Net application's standpoint. Therefore, when the user switches his top priority language on the browser from Japanese to English (see the instructions in another message on this board), and then click on any links in the RSS document, this error goes away and the link is correctly displayed. Quite confusing to the user!! Now, I feel it is an urgent task to investigate Japanese blogs, find out the RSS2 format used to display Japanese characters, and create actually the RSS2 document in Japanese.
Switch to Japanese
